Twitter is a good way of telling others what you are doing, what you have seen and helping them to see and rate websites, videos and forums that you have visited.

Many thousands or more use twitter in the world, so you always know that something interesting will be found, shown or seen.

Figure this thread could use a bump. Smiley
I like Twitter and actually spend a great deal of time on it. The thing about Twitter is that it needs to be used as intended, to socialize. It is not all about "me". You need to interact with others, reply, retweet etc.

I dont buy into the 1000s of followers a day, stuff. In fact two things will get a person unfollowed by me quickly.
1.) Posting about getting 1000s of followers a day
2.) Not being social and just posting about you or some IM opportunity.

Personally I trim my twitter list regularly. I would imagine if I followed some guru strategies I would have thousands of followers and be following thousands. However, what is the point? Can you keep up with a conversation of thousands? I trim my followed list regularly. I look at who has conversed with me in the last month and if they have not replied or repsonded to a reply or DM, they get scrubbed. If they do not socialize, they get scrubbed, if they post about the lastest whizz bang IM product all the time, they get scrubbed.

I enjoy the people I follow and I beleive they enjoy me. Once that relationship is there, it is all gravy.

That said, I am a little uncoventional for the Internet Marketing niche, so do what you feel is right, but be advised, Twitter is cracking down harder everyday.

Good stuff Joe. Yes, I have learned this as well regarding twitter. You have to spend time with it and build relationships. In other words; talk to someone and converse. Not a big difference from what we have done over the years using MSN/Windows Live Messenger. You can have tons of contacts, but if you don't converse with them; nothing happens. Actually, I just generated a RobsNetworkers Real Time lead the others day......I was tickled that the gentleman left his Skype ID. Hmmmmmm, let me see if he is online now.     Wink

Yea, it really does come natural and is much more enjoyable. You are right, social media is something that Rob's Networkers should be embracing with ease, seeing that this is the type of interaction you taught from my days in the 10K conferences.

Yes, I agree Joe. I introduced the team to twitter and facebook; plus we have used linked-in a bit as well. Also have encouraged blogging as well (since we use a blog format for our Lcp). I'm not really an expert though in these disciplines; plus the reception on these ideas was a bit on the luke warm side........but maybe there is still hope; especially with this thread you have going here. Again, good stuff Joe!

Here is the thing. I to at first wanted to use twitter as a social network to chat with others. But honestly its just way to hard to keep up with everyone. So with my twitter account at twitter.com/visitmaniac I use this account to just build as big of a list of followers as possible and post an update about once a day. You know what it seems to be working! I generate traffic from twitter every day and have even truely produced results from it. However I am a bit torn as to what to do with my main account I just started under my name visitmaniac/seansupplee should I let the followers flow naturally? Meaning I add it to my blog facebook etc and let people follow me first? Or do I go out there again and start building up the follower base as quickly as possible. HHMM what to do what to do lol

Great approach on the update 1x/day concept as you are correct it is hard to stay on top of it let alone read through it all...

I will admit that I am not very twitterliterate and need to learn some better ways to utilize this service.

Maybe, somebody on the forum will chime in and give us both some direction  Don't Know

Ok folks

You can use twitter to set up a dialog and we use twitter to build our downline. ->

There is a tool out there that you can use for twitter.

That dose part of the job that you need.

It’s called tweet glide here is the link http://tweetglide.com/whitelionsrock

How it works is you down load it ( it’s free ) watch the videos lot of good info .

What it dose is lets you send out posts on twitter and face book at the same time !

You keep it down in your tray and when you are working and think of something to say on  twitter you bring it up and post in 2 networking sites at the same time .

Put it back in your tray and check it a little later to see if you have any people answering you in your direct massages or mentioning your post it will show that to.

At the free level you can have 5 adds running  .

But WE over  here at http://s-w.ca/105.w  have done it one better

Our Programmer has written software  where we can send out DIRECT tweets to people on twitter at the very moment that they are there twittering

The idea for MLMers is to use twitter to build your downline. Twitter allows you to - first- see someone on line who shares an interest with you ... someone you can set a dialog with. - second - tells you that this person is on line - so you can begin a chat - and -third - most importantly - that person is MOTIVATED - she has just posted!. So.. IF you can reply to that person JUST AS SHE IS POSTING them she WILL reply - who wouldn't - "Wow - someone is interested in my message". Now the trick is to be there NOW and to know what to say.
So there are 2 ways of being there NOW - one is to use public tweet and the other is to use our software.

As to what to say and how to start the dialog - send me a skype

I have put 1/3 of my downline in The  SmartZ way using THIS NEW
software tool.

Hope this helps Kimberly

I love Twitter, I have been using Twitter for little less than 5 months and I have been promoting several opportunities and loving the results that I get from Twitter, for those of you who are not using it you are missing a great chance to make new friends and get some great free advertising for your business
